Little Journey is UK based health-tech company, providing a preparation app for paediatric healthcare and life sciences. As an in-house Digital Product Designer, I was responsible for designing, testing and delivering accessible solutions for the Little Journey app, as part of an agile product team. Catering to neurodivergent children and their families who are often forgotten by mainstream systems, this app is the epitome of function over form, with accessibility and inclusivity being priority number one.

Graphic Design
In collaboration with The LEGO Foundation (as part of their “Play For All” investment accelerator), I led the design of a new module for the Little Journey app called “A Little About Me”.
The problem this module addressed was that children and their families (especially those who are neurodivergent) experience higher levels of anxiety during hospital visits and healthcare interactions. The feature aimed to gather a collection of datapoints through a series of gamified quizzes, which could then be translated into a one-sheet of actionable adjustments passed on to attending medical staff ahead of a procedure, helping to reduce the chances of traumatic intervention.

Designing engaging, gamified ways to collect data from both children and their families.
Translating that data into clear, actionable information for medical staff to accommodate the patient’s additional needs.
Successfully delivered the MVP, securing funding for further investment in the third and final phase of the Play For All accelerator.
Promoted to midweight and assigned lead design responsibility for Little Journey’s partnership with The LEGO Foundation for the next phase of the project.
Feature developed and launched on the Little Journey app.

While my priorities and specialisation lay within the realm of native app design, I also regularly contributed to web maintenance and CMS management for the Little Journey Health website, including a visual refresh of the whole site following the companies brand development.
In addition to my UX and product design work, I also contributed to a range of graphic design and marketing collateral to support hospital launch events, social media campaigns, app releases and conference visits.
